Bath and Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom Shower Gel

Read article : Bath and Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom Shower Gel

My love for shower gels is never going to end.  One of my most favourite brands, “Bath and Body Works” makes amazing shower gels and lotions and this is one of them.  It was a gift from an aunt who lives in the United States.  She always brings lots of body lotions and shower gels and that too mostly from this brand only.

Product Description:
Our Signature Shower Gel is newly supercharged with benefits that make it the world’s best daily luxury. It has been reformulated to provide the ultimate shower experience, pampering you with a luxurious lather of moisturizing aloe vera and nourishing oils. It gently cleanses, softens and fragrances your skin.

Ingredients:

How To Use:

Pour a button-sized drop on a damp washcloth or mesh sponge, work into a lather and smooth this over skin. Rinse clean.

Packaging:

It comes in 2 sizes.  One is the travel sized 88 ml bottle and the other is 295 ml.  I have both.  It is a transparent plastic bottle with a flip cap.  I like these travel-size bottles very much.

Price:

It is priced at $5 for 88 ml and $10 for 295 ml.The bigger bottle is definitely value for money.

My Experience with Bath and Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom Shower Gel:

I like the fragrance of this shower gel.  It is a very mild and soothing scent of fresh flowers, but for those who prefer strong fragrance, you may not like this.  It is not sticky and does not leave the skin slippery.  It gives a very fresh feeling. A little goes a long way.  Bath and Body Works products are of very good quality and I would buy them always if they were so easily available in India as in the US.

This can also be used as a bubble bath in bath tubs.

Pros of Bath and Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom Shower Gel:

  • Good fragrance.
  • Decently priced.
  • Very good, quality packaging.
  • Nonsticky.
  • Travel-size bottles are available for trial.
  • Not tested on animals.

These bathing products will make your soak plenty of fun and bring the spa to you at home

Read article : These bathing products will make your soak plenty of fun and bring the spa to you at home

If you’ve made the commitment to take a bath, you might be contemplating products that will transform your soak, mimicking the luxurious atmosphere of a spa or the meditative possibilities of a sauna. Or perhaps you're nostalgic for the fragrances and bubbles associated with childhood. Here are few suggestions.

Did somebody say, “Swedish spa”? Open a jar of L:A Bruket No. 065 Bath Salt (Mint) and don't be surprised if you start thinking about the ocean — and seaweed — all fairly appropriate considering the line is based in Sweden, a country known for its saunas, massages and embrace of wellness. L:A Bruket No. 065 Bath Salt (Mint), $35, sportique.com.

Barr-Co. <a href=Bath Original Scent Bath Soak and L:A Bruket No. 065 Bath Salt (mint)." class="trb_em_ic_img" title="Barr-Co. Bath Original Scent Bath Soak and L:A Bruket No. 065 Bath Salt (mint)." src="src" />

Why you should pass on jumping in the shower and instead take a nice, hot soak in a tub »

The tonic line is part of the Clarins family, and one product in particular —  the Tonic Body Treatment Oil — has inspired some beauty bloggers to write about its usefulness in preventing “the appearance of stretch marks.” One thing we can say with certainty? Its fragrance is phenomenal. Tonic Body Treatment Oil, $60, sephora.com and clarinsusa.com; Tonic Daily Polisher, $41, clarinsusa.com; Tonic Bath & Shower Concentrate, $29, clarinsusa.com.

Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics offers a bath box that might inspire memories of grade-school reports on the planets and shooting stars. The Astronomical wrapped gift of bath bombs includes an Intergalactic Bath Bomb, Twilight Bath Bomb, Big Bang Bubble Bar, Ickle Baby Bot Bath Bomb and the Experimenter Bath Bomb. Let the space exploration begin. Astronomical wrapped gift, $39.95, lushusa.com.

If you haven't experienced a bubble bath since you were, say, 6, Library of Flowers might lure you into the tub with the Forest Bubble Bath, although its hints of white sage, Arctic moss and oak bark are nothing like the bubble gum or grape fragrances you might associate with bubble baths of yore. Library of Flowers’ the Forest Bubble Bath, $36, libraryofflowers.com.

Fresh's Sake Bath, Library of Flowers’ the <a href=Forest Bubble Bath, Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil and Tonic Daily Polisher." class="trb_em_ic_img" title="Fresh's Sake Bath, Library of Flowers’ the Forest Bubble Bath, Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil and Tonic Daily Polisher." src="src" />

Sometimes a long soak requires breakfast foods. Barr-Co. Bath Original Scent Bath Soak, produced by St. Louis-based K. Hall Designs, has an ingredient list that includes oatmeal, vanilla and milk. (The only thing missing is, perhaps, a cup of Lucky Charms.)  Barr-Co. Bath Original Scent Bath Soak, $32, Khalldesigns.com and anthropologie.com.

For many of us, the post-bath ritual includes lotion. Earth Tu Face, a San Francisco-based company that understands what “made in California” is all about (labels include ingredients and phrases such as “GMO free” and “cruelty free”), offers botanicals to ease dry skin. Rosemary + Salt Lotion, $38, luckyscent.com and earthtuface.com; Jasmine Blossom Lotion, $58, earthtuface.com and otherwild.com.

An <a href=astronomical wrapped gift from Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics." class="trb_em_ic_img" title="An astronomical wrapped gift from Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics." src="src" />

Sake is an ingredient used in various soaking products and D.I.Y. formulas, touted for its detoxifying properties. Was sake used in beauty rituals observed by Japanese geisha? Perhaps, but at the very least, 21st century users can count on a fragrant experience. Fresh's Sake Bath is made with ginger root, radish root and peach fruit extracts — in addition to sake. Fresh Sake Bath, $49 and $82, fresh.com.

A previous version of this story said Earth Tu Face is based in San Francisco. The company is based in Oakland.

The Body Shop Vanilla Bath and Shower Gel Review

Read article : The Body Shop Vanilla Bath and Shower Gel Review

Ola Bonita Chica’s!

I’ve got another special treat for you keeping in mind my travelling theme that I’m focussing on right now. Travelling can get so exhausting and you need something to keep yourself refreshed and give yourself a burst of energy. Now, I’m sorry I give so much away in the start of my reviews regarding if a product is good or bad, but I just get excited if something works for me- I just want to spill all the good stuff! Or vice versa if something is so crap, I just want to warn you straightaway. So this Body Shop Bath and Shower Gel works and has been wonderful, I request you to read on to find out why!

The <a href=Body Shop Vanilla Bath and Shower Gel" width="467" height="700" />

Product Description

My travel friendly version of The Body Shop’s Vanilla Bath and Shower gel comes in a clear plastic container. The colour of the shower gel is not the most girly or inviting but it is so much better than it looks! The flip top lid secures quite nicely and this will not spill in your suitcase or bag. But if you want to carry this with you in your hand luggage anywhere in the world then you absolutely can, because of its handy dandy size! And because it is transparent you know how much you have left before it runs out! These bottles can also be cleaned and re-purposed.

Product Claims:

This soap-free bath and shower gel has a deliciously sweet vanilla fragrance.  Lather rich, sweet vanilla scent.

Ingredients:

TBs vanilla <a href=shower gel" width="667" height="257" />

Price: INR 225 for 60 ml of product.

The-Body-Shop-Vanilla-Bath-and-Shower-Gel-Review-5

My Experience With The Body Shop Vanilla Bath and Shower Gel:

This is possibly the one product where I have studied the ingredients in super detail! I’ve become used to being disappointed when a wonderful beauty product has many harmful ingredients, and this is exactly one of those. But let me not be a party pooper and start with the good stuff instead. So as I mentioned, the colour of this shower gel does not remind me of vanilla in any way but it gets this colour due to the caramel added in it as a colour agent. This does not add to the scent of the body wash in any way though. I love that this is a soap free formulation so it does not dry my skin out at all. In fact it is rather hydrating! It does lather very nicely, more so if used with a Loofah. You only need very little to use for a shower or bath, which is why I really like this particular shower gel when I travel because I can get so much use out of a smaller sized piece.

The-Body-Shop-Vanilla-Bath-and-Shower-Gel-Review-4

The fragrance of this is beautiful, one of the best Body Shop fragrances so far and I’m on first name basis with the Body Shop’s sales people’s children so trust me! I’ve tried so many of their shower gels! The smell of this is warm, comforting, sweet and very vanilla-ey, there’s nothing artificial or fake about it. It is just heavenly and it is one of those rare shower gels where the scent lasts you for a few hours even after you shower. These perfume laden formulations can sometimes cause me trouble but this formulation has not irritated my dry sensitive skin in any way.

The-Body-Shop-Vanilla-Bath-and-Shower-Gel-Review-7

The lather as well, is luxurious and rich and the important thing is that this shower gel cleanses very nicely after a long trip, getting all the grime and dirt off you. Plus the fragrance is bound to relax! It’s not nauseatingly vanilla and leaves your skin soft afterwards. The bad thing about this and all body shop shower gels is the hard plastic packaging which is difficult to squeeze once these bottles are half way used. You just have to turn them upside down and wait for gravity to do its job and then squeeze to get the product out.

The-Body-Shop-Vanilla-Bath-and-Shower-Gel-Review-8

Not to burst your bubble now, but unfortunately let us get to the serious cons of this product. It contains sulphates and parabens in its formulation. But this is a rare product as I’ve seen many parabens in it. Ethyl, Methyl, Isobutyl, Butyl and Propylparaben. You name it, it’s got it. This is really sad because it is a fantastic product otherwise! I mean it even has sunscreen in it and that is pretty cool because I have never come across a shower gel with such qualities.

Pros of The Body Shop Vanilla Bath and Shower Gel:

Leak proof packaging.
• Can be carried in hand luggage.
Soap free.
• Lathers very luxuriously.
• Beautiful fragrance.

Cons of The Body Shop Vanilla Bath and Shower Gel:

• Contains too many parabens.
• Contains sulphates.
• Difficult to squeeze the product out once this is used up half the way.

Would I Repurchase Or Recommend The The Body Shop Vanilla Bath And Shower Gel?

How could I possibly recommend something with so many parabens in it?
My conscience would never allow it! Sadly, I will probably be throwing this out even though I have only used it three times. I should have checked the ingredients before buying it. It has too many parabens which, for a shop like The Body Shop is strange because you expect everything in there to be natural and free of harsh chemicals.

IMBB Rating
1/5 solely due to the parabens in this formulation, otherwise it really deserves a 5/5 for how good it is!

Spring Fragrance Round up: What’s New from Creed, Lanvin, Molton Brown and More!

Read article : Spring Fragrance Round up: What’s New from Creed, Lanvin, Molton Brown and More!

dyptique-sensa-spring-fragrances-lanvin-molton-brownChoosing a signature scent is a very personal experience. With new fragrances launching daily, it’s hard to sift through and yet there is something about the weather changing that gets me all excited for those more flirty floral scents. Brands like Ulta and Sephora will organize by top rated (Sephora also features what’s new) which are great resources. For me I need to experience a fragrance in person so I have been non-stop attending fragrance previews and have an entirely new updated scent range for the season. Here’s what were excited about:
creed-princess-oud-lanvin-spring-fragrancess

Raw Spirit Desert Blush: All of the fragrances featured above are new with the exception of Desert Blush from Raw Spirit (the rollerball shown above). I recently discovered the brand and have become instantly enamored. This is the fragrance I travel with and makes me feel so pretty and feminine every time I put it on. Inspired by the Western Australian desert, the scent is based around Australian boronia, a tiny pink blossom known for it’s sweet, citrusy aroma. Blended with notes of jasmine petals and violets mixed with warm musk, cedarwood and Australian sandalwood.

creed-royal-princess-oud

Creed Royal Princess Oud: Master perfumer Olivier Creed created a captivating scent featuring notes of floral iris at the heart and oud at the base. This woody floral fragrance features the signature note of oud, a historical ingredient that’s expensive and rare, perfectly fitting for a captivating and passionate fragrance. You have to be an Oud lover (obviously) for this to be your new signature scent but like everything Creed does it’s sophisticated, rich and unique. It was a Neiman Marcus Beauty Award Finalist and available in two sizes, 1oz and 2.5oz (photoed above).
Molton-Brown-Dewy-Lily-of-the-Valley

Molton Brown Dewy Lily of the Valley & Star Anise: London’s fragrance expert, Molton Brown unveiled a modern interpretation of a classic scent inspired by the elegant purity of a luxurious bridal bouquet. The collection, including bath and shower gel, body lotion, Eau de Toilette, hand cream, candle and aroma reeds, celebrates the leading note: lily of the valley with additional notes of star anise, green mandarin and white tea. I grew up with Lily of the Valley in my backyard and this scent takes me back to walks in the woods. Be on the lookout for this collection starting March 21st!
lanvin-fleurs-fragrance

Lanvin Éclat de Fleurs: A fruity, floral bouquet, Éclat de Fleurs blends the refined fragrance of flowers with the tangy scent of fruit, making it perfect for spring. The head note of a succulent pear accord creates a sensation of colorful freshness. Following this airy top note, the floral heart note gradually releases roses with the mellowness of Sambac Jasmin. The base notes are a sweetness of white musk with the creaminess of Sandalwood.
dyptique-eau-de-sens-perfume

Diptyque Eau de Sens: The latest fragrance from Diptyque carries the scent of orange blossom, Juniper berries and Patchouli. It’s a beautiful mix of citrus with some unexpected woody notes that’s so unbelievably lovely. Eau de Sense is available in three fragrance sizes as well as in a soap bar.

ferragamo-signorina-fragrance

Ferragamo Signorina Misteriosa: Signorina Misteriosa is Ferragamo’s newest fragrance, celebrating a woman’s mysterious side. The daring Eau de Parfum was developed by perfumers Sophie Labbé and Nicolas Beaulieu and infuses notes of blackberry, neroli, orange blossom, tuberose, patchouli and black vanilla mousse. It’s very exotic and unique and the perfect fragrance to take you from day to night. Available in two sizes 1.7oz and 3.4oz on Macys.com.

carthusia-essence-in-the-park-perfume

Carthusia Essence of The Park: A few months back I went to a lunch for Carthusia. Hailing from Capri it’s a beautiful heritage brand with a rich history and wide array of fragrances, candles and home fragrances. Their latest scent is a sparkling floral evoking the most cherished scents of the outdoors. The scent contains a transporting blend of luminous magnolia, winter honeysuckle and cooling Artemisia. Experience the whole collection at C.O. Bigelow

clean-blossom-fragrance

Clean Blossom: A very floral and powdery scent that isn’t overpowering and inspired by a natural spring scattered with freshly fallen petals. Blending Tunisian neroli, orange blossom, and sensual sandalwood, this feminine scent transports you to a beautiful floral garden. Also available in a rollerball on birchbox.com.

What fragrances are you excited about for the season!? Let me know! xoLara

Bath and Body Works Sweet Magnolia and Clementine Shower Gel Review

Read article : Bath and Body Works Sweet Magnolia and Clementine Shower Gel Review

Hello everyone!

Today’s product to review is, again, from a well known brand in fragrances and bath and body stuff. I have chosen Bath & Body Works Sweet Magnolia and Clementine Shower Gel for review today. My love for shower gels never comes to an end and might never will; let’s see how this fares for me.

Bath & <a href=Body Works Sweet Magnolia and Clementine Shower Gel Review1" width="700" height="525" />

Product Description:
Wash your way to softer, cleaner skin with a rich, bubbly lather bursting with fragrance. Moisturizing Aloe and Vitamin E combine with skin-loving Shea Butter in our most irresistible, beautifully fragranced formula!

Top Notes: Pear Blossom, Clementine, Sparkling Black Currant, Lush Greens
Mid Notes: Violet Leaves, Magnolia Blossom, Jasmine Petals, Lily of the Valley
Dry Notes: Vanilla, Driftwood, Heliotrope, Apricot Nectar, Skin Musk.

Price:
$5 for 88 ml. It cost me $11 with shipping & taxes. Also available in $12.5- 236 ml

Ingredients:

Bath & <a href=Body Works Sweet Magnolia and Clementine Shower Gel Review3" width="684" height="700" />

Key Fragrance Notes:
A charming blend of sweet magnolia, fresh clementine and spring sandalwood.

Usage:
Add a drop to wet sponge or cloth & wash with rich creamy lather.

My Experience with Bath & Body Works Sweet Magnolia and Clementine Shower Gel:

Actually I have picked up both – fine fragrance mist and shower, from the signature collection of Bath & Body Works Sweet Magnolia and Clementine range. By the time shipment reached me, the fragrance mist had already been reviewed. So, I will review the shower gel only.

Packaging: The packaging is heart stealer with fresh green colored bottle and floral imprints. This is a travel size and compact bottle, compatible in your got-to-go bag. It is sturdy and travel friendly.

Bath & <a href=Body Works Sweet Magnolia and Clementine Shower Gel Review" width="432" height="700" />

Notes:
Bath & Body Works Sweet Magnolia and Clementine Shower Gel is a signature collection shower gel, but impressed me to a medium extent. The top notes are compiled with fruity fragrances of Pear Blossom, Clementine, Sparkling Black Currant, Lush Greens. The heart notes are described by the brand as Pear Blossom, Clementine, Sparkling Black Currant, and Lush Greens; in which you can dominantly sniff the jasmine and I simply love it. The dry notes are formulated with Vanilla, Driftwood, Heliotrope, Apricot Nectar, and Skin Musk. The lasting notes are a complete mix and you can’t say which one leads – vanilla or musk.

Bath & <a href=Body Works Sweet Magnolia and Clementine Shower Gel Review2" width="416" height="700" />

Performance:
It is a light green colored shower gel with medium consistency. Yet, it is viscous and watery to some extent. The notes get an average ranking from me, but performance is thoroughly satisfying. Dime sized amount lathers rich in a loofah and cleanses the skin well. The lather formed gets rinsed without leaving any residual. The end results are soft and smooth skin, fragranced with a mixture of floral and vanilla-musk fragrance. But, the fragrance vanishes soon as you step out.

Bath & <a href=Body Works Sweet Magnolia and Clementine Shower Gel Review1" width="700" height="525" />

Pros of Bath & Body Works Sweet Magnolia and Clementine Shower Gel:

• Fresh, green, lovely, sturdy and travel friendly bottle
• A perfect blend of fruity, floral and vanilla-musk notes
• A decent treat for sharp noses
• Leaves skin clean, soft and supple
• Lathers rich with a dime sized amount
• No excessive drying of skin
• No residual feeling after rinsed off
• Often available on sale for the USA residents

Cons of Bath & Body Works Sweet Magnolia and Clementine Shower Gel:

• Costly when imported
• The fragrance is really short lived

IMBB Rating:
4/5

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Bath & Body Works Sweet Magnolia and Clementine Shower Gel?
I really like the shower gel and it is worth a try. Yet, with so many other options available, it’s not on my repurchase list; nor is Bath & Body Works Sweet Magnolia and Clementine Fine Fragrance Mist. Because when a fragrance is short lived, it is not useful in my opinion.

Have a nice day ahead.
