Molton Brown has released its new Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel Collection.
The range (from £20) features cypress oil as the key ingredient and includes an eau de toilette, bath and shower gel and deodorant.
Sourced in Cape York, Australia, cypress oil is said to be the world’s only naturally blue essential oil distilled from a tree.

Choosing a signature scent is a very personal experience. With new fragrances launching daily, it’s hard to sift through and yet there is something about the weather changing that gets me all excited for those more flirty floral scents. Brands like Ulta and Sephora will organize by top rated (Sephora also features what’s new) which are great resources. For me I need to experience a fragrance in person so I have been non-stop attending fragrance previews and have an entirely new updated scent range for the season. Here’s what were excited about:
Raw Spirit Desert Blush: All of the fragrances featured above are new with the exception of Desert Blush from Raw Spirit (the rollerball shown above). I recently discovered the brand and have become instantly enamored. This is the fragrance I travel with and makes me feel so pretty and feminine every time I put it on. Inspired by the Western Australian desert, the scent is based around Australian boronia, a tiny pink blossom known for it’s sweet, citrusy aroma. Blended with notes of jasmine petals and violets mixed with warm musk, cedarwood and Australian sandalwood.
Creed Royal Princess Oud: Master perfumer Olivier Creed created a captivating scent featuring notes of floral iris at the heart and oud at the base. This woody floral fragrance features the signature note of oud, a historical ingredient that’s expensive and rare, perfectly fitting for a captivating and passionate fragrance. You have to be an Oud lover (obviously) for this to be your new signature scent but like everything Creed does it’s sophisticated, rich and unique. It was a Neiman Marcus Beauty Award Finalist and available in two sizes, 1oz and 2.5oz (photoed above).
Molton Brown Dewy Lily of the Valley & Star Anise: London’s fragrance expert, Molton Brown unveiled a modern interpretation of a classic scent inspired by the elegant purity of a luxurious bridal bouquet. The collection, including bath and shower gel, body lotion, Eau de Toilette, hand cream, candle and aroma reeds, celebrates the leading note: lily of the valley with additional notes of star anise, green mandarin and white tea. I grew up with Lily of the Valley in my backyard and this scent takes me back to walks in the woods. Be on the lookout for this collection starting March 21st!
Lanvin Éclat de Fleurs: A fruity, floral bouquet, Éclat de Fleurs blends the refined fragrance of flowers with the tangy scent of fruit, making it perfect for spring. The head note of a succulent pear accord creates a sensation of colorful freshness. Following this airy top note, the floral heart note gradually releases roses with the mellowness of Sambac Jasmin. Diptyque Eau de Sens: The latest fragrance from Diptyque carries the scent of orange blossom, Juniper berries and Patchouli. It’s a beautiful mix of citrus with some unexpected woody notes that’s so unbelievably lovely. Eau de Sense is available in three fragrance sizes as well as in a soap bar.
Ferragamo Signorina Misteriosa: Signorina Misteriosa is Ferragamo’s newest fragrance, celebrating a woman’s mysterious side. The daring Eau de Parfum was developed by perfumers Sophie Labbé and Nicolas Beaulieu and infuses notes of blackberry, neroli, orange blossom, tuberose, patchouli and black vanilla mousse. It’s very exotic and unique and the perfect fragrance to take you from day to night. Available in two sizes 1.7oz and 3.4oz on Macys.com.
Carthusia Essence of The Park: A few months back I went to a lunch for Carthusia. Hailing from Capri it’s a beautiful heritage brand with a rich history and wide array of fragrances, candles and home fragrances. Their latest scent is a sparkling floral evoking the most cherished scents of the outdoors. The scent contains a transporting blend of luminous magnolia, winter honeysuckle and cooling Artemisia. Clean Blossom: A very floral and powdery scent that isn’t overpowering and inspired by a natural spring scattered with freshly fallen petals. This summer, London connoisseurs Molton Brown and the quintessentially English hotel, The Goring are coming together to launch a luxurious ‘London via the World’ bathing menu to celebrate the eccentric, vibrant character of the capital.
Created to transport The Goring’s guests to exotic destinations around the world (via the bathtub) Molton Brown’s ‘London via the World’ bathing menu is inspired by five of the brand’s most-loved fragrance collections.
Guests staying in the hotel between July 15th and September 15th 2012 will be able to choose the ultimate pampering experience from one of the five countries that make up Molton Brown’s new Global Heroes MMXII collection of body washes.

Cognisant of the fact that there has been an increased demand for marine olfactive scents, London fragrance expert Molton Brown has launched a new Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel Collection.
The range which includes an EDT, Bath & Shower Gel and Deodorant, ‘embodies boundless exploration into the uncharted, and echoes Molton Brown’s own pioneering spirit’, says the brand.
The key ingredient, cypress oil, known as ‘blue gold’ – said to be the world’s only naturally blue essential oil distilled from a tree – has been sourced from Cape York, Australia.
Carla Chabert, the master perfumer who created the new collection, describes Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel as a combination of ‘classical marine notes with cold spices’, which interpret the colour blue.
SEA FENNEL AND SALT-SPRAYED CYPRESS
“Australian sea fennel meets the land with intriguing, salt-sprayed cypress, finished with waves of aromatic cardamom and jasmine,” says Molton Brown.

“It is an elevated version of our traditional hand and arm massage, with all senses being engaged, to immerse our customers in the story behind the collection,” explains Pluess.
“We will also be looking at raising customer awareness of Molton Brown in travel retail by engaging with travel bloggers, inviting them to discover the collection the next time they travel through one of the airports where we are present.
“Our objective is to reach and align with potential customers in advance, so that we become part of their pre-planned journey. We want them to be looking for us on arrival at the airport instead of discovering our counter by chance while browsing in the shops,” adds Pluess.
