Three-year-old Mason Sallis has been able to eat proper meals for the first time thanks to Stamford Round Table.

The youngster, from Wittering, has a range of complex health issues including Pierre Robin sequence – which means he has a small lower jaw and large tongue which causes breathing difficulties.

He also has a cleft palate, rare skeletal disorder osteopathia striata with cranial sclerosis, and hydrocephalus – a build up of fluid on the brain.

Mason’s health problems mean he finds it difficult to eat large pieces of food.

When Stamford Round Table heard about this, they decided to buy him a high-performance Vitamix blender – which can liquidize food with no lumps left over as a choking hazard.

The group also paid for a new shower to be installed at his home where he lives with parents Laura and Tony Sallis and brothers Alfie, 5, and Teddy, 10 months.

The £1,500 shower was put in at cost price by Stamford Plumbing.

Laura said the family were amazed by the generosity of Stamford Round Table members.

She said: “The Vitamix is much more powerful than a normal blender and means we can thoroughly blitz normal home-cooked meals without any lumps.

“Until recently Mason could only eat small pieces of finger food, but now he can enjoy proper meals.”

The Sallis family did not previously have a shower and Mason was rapidly growing out of his bath seat.

Laura added: “Because Mason has a tracheostomy we have to be very careful at bath time. The new shower means we can control exactly where the water goes and he loves it.

“I can’t thank the Round Table enough for paying for this. It is amazing and is already making life much easier.”

Stamford Round Table chairman Neil Walker said: “We are so happy to have made a difference to Mason’s quality of life. All the fundraising we do is worth it when we see something like the smile on this boy’s face, and knowing we have put it there.”

Neil visited dinosaur fan Mason last week to see how he was getting on – and presented him with a 35 million year old tooth from a Megalodon, the largest marine predator in history.

Stamford Round Table is an organisation open to men aged 18-45. Round Table is about having fun with friends and supporting local communities.

Round Table clubs raise over £3.3 million a year for local charities and good causes through various events including bonfire nights and beer festivals. 4Space requirements for furniture
The usefulness of a dwelling highly depends on the way it is furnished. Well organised furniture will increase the usefulness of the dwelling. The following outline with measurements of furniture can be of help to make useful furniture planning. The outline will provide measurement on commonly used furniture and the required free space around the furniture, when they are used and space required for cleaning. Hall way / Entrance A wardrobe or a rack with hangers for 4 persons requires min. 600 x 1200 mm, and a chest of drawers approx. 400 x 800 mm plus free space in front approx. 900 mm. The hall should have a free floor area of at least 1300 x 1300 mm. Bedrooms The size of a bed is approx x 900 mm. Besides that a free space of 700mm along the bed is required. Space required in total 2100 x 1600 mm. 700mm as free floorspace along the bed is not much for cleaning. With 1000 x 1200 mm cleaning becomes much easier. A combined bed- and living room for one person should have a width om min. 2400mm and a floor area of at least 10m2 to give reasonable possibilities for organising furniture in the room. There should be at least 900mm free space in front of wardrobes/cabinets and table to allow space for cleaning and movement.

Two beds placed at an angle should be spaced with a distance of at least 600mm toallow space for cleaning and doing the bed. Total space required for such two beds is approx x 2100mm.

6Arrangement of bedroom
Here are 3 examples of room for one person. The floor area is 8, 10 and 12 m2 The examples illustrate how much can be achieved by increasing the floor area with a few m2.

7Living rooms A sofa and two easy chairs require approx x 3000mm, with three chairs approx x 3000mm and with four chairs approx x 3000mm. In a common living room there should be at leat 3000mm wall space for chest of drawers, bookscase and shelves etc., where books, papers,tv, radio and taperecorder can be placed. An ordinary office desk requires approx. 800 x 1600mm plus space for a chair 900mm, in total 1700 x 1600 mm. A small desk requires approx. 600 x 1200mm plus space for a chair 900mm, in total approx x 1200mm

8Dining area A dining area for 4 persons require approx x 2400mm and for 8 persons approx x 2400mm. Additionally 600mm space for passage should be included at one table end. A dining area with a round table for 4 – 6 persons require approx x 2800mm. If extended for 8 persons the space required is approx x 3400mm. Additional space should be included for passage on at least one side of the table.

9How the individual rooms can be arranged
The possibilities of arranging furniture in a room depends on the size and shape of the room as well as the placement of windows and doors. A room with sizes of approx. 3 x 4 m kan be utilised in a number of ways. For example as bedroom, living room or dinning room.

10Kitchen equipment Kitchen
In a dwelling for persons there should be approx. 4 m work top including cooker and refrigerator, and in an dwelling for 4 – 6 persons the length shuold be approx. 4 – 5 m. Regardless of the kitchen type and shape the best working sequence is aquired when the individual workplaces and work tops in principal are arranged as shown on fig. 1, with dish washing area at the left side. The closet for broom can be placed outside the kitchen, for example in the scullery or entrance room. Also the fridge can be placed outside the kitchen. 14Bathroom equipment and arrangement
Bathrooms To ensure a reasonable free floor space and space for cleaning in the bathroom, there should be a free distance of at least 1100mm in front of sanitary equipment. In an extra WC – room a free distance of 600 – 800 mm could be acceptable, but the space is limited and cleaning difficult. Passage With a free area of 600mm one can pass between two pieces of furniture or between a piece of furniture and wall. If 900mm is available one can pass carrying a tray or a bucket and a broom. Areas with intensive traffic, for example between two doors, or between a sofa and a dining place or along a staircase, should be at least 1000mm wide.

15Examples on how bathrooms can be arranged

16Placing of Doors The way a door is placed and the space it occupies when opened, has great influence on the way the room can be furnished and arranged. A door placed close to the corner of a room can be left open without interupting anything. With a distance of 400mm from the corner there is space for a bookcase or shelf behind the door. With 700mm distance a wardrobe or closet can be fixed behind the door. If the distance is 1000mm between door and a corner, it will be possible to place a bed next to the door and if there is 1500mm there could also be room for a bed table. A distance of 2200mm between door and corner allows a bed or sofa to be placed along the wall.

17User requirement check list
Entrances is protection from weather provided at entrances? is there space in hall for receiving visitors? is there convenient storage for outdoor clothing & pram? can meters be read without entering living area Living area is there space for required furniture in sensible arrangement? is there sufficient space to seat guests in dinning area? does living room face private garden? Bedroom is there space for required furniture in sensible arrangements – consider use of beds? can bedroom be used for child’s homework, entertaining friends & hobbies? Bathroom is bathroom convenient for bathing baby? has use of bathroom by elderly people, invalids, been considered? is there space for appropriate bathroom equipment hanging towels etc.? Storage & accessibility are refuse bine & fuel storage accessible, conveniently placed for collection & delivery? can bicycles be taken outside, pram put in garden & garden refuse removed, without passing through living area?

 Doesn’t it this place makes you feel happier? I love the stunning colors brought to this light, airy home. It certainly makes it feel more alive.

Talking about happiness, I hope you’re feeling happy today, but if not, put everything that is bothering you aside. Maybe you’re forgetting to look at the good things in life and is putting too much of your energy and health towards the bad stuff.

When was it the last time you said “That’s it! I will think about myself right now”? We tend to always focus on people, on how they’re feeling, on how they’re doing or on how things are going and we rarely stop to thing about HOW WE ARE.

Take this day to look at yourself. Look in the mirror and only say what you love about yourself. Do not allow any criticism to come to your mind. Say all the things you can remember that you have accomplished in life. Try to remember all the details, from childhood, to your teenager years to this day.

Look at yourself and think about all the good things you have done to others. Even the small gestures count.

Now, look at yourself and say what a good person you are and that you are loved. Tell yourself that you understand that life has not always been fair but that you will always be here, you will always be present and you will always be alert.

Tell yourself that no matter what, you will always love yourself.

Also, remember to tell yourself that you’re walking on the right path at this moment. You’re taking the directions you need, you’re making the necessary changes and you’re paying attention. You are growing and you’re open to learn.

And most of all, tell yourself that no matter where this path takes you, you will always be loved.

Do you dream of escaping to somewhere private, relaxed, warm and welcoming, with the most incredible views you’ve ever seen? The North Georgia mountain cabin rental playfully named Bearrell of Fun is that kind of place. Located in the Aska Adventure Area in an exclusive gated community, this tri-level, four-bedroom lodge has year-round gorgeous views of Lake Blue Ridge and mountains in three states. 

Drive 2.3 miles through beautiful, scenic winding road through the forest and you arrive at this modern rustic showplace, with its wraparound decks that offer stunning views from every angle. Soaring ceilings and enormous windows let in lots of light and bring the outside in, and the all-wood, rustically decorated interior is warm and cozy. 

The family room, with its leather sofa, wood burning, freestanding fireplace and breathtaking 360º view, is adjacent to the kitchen that features wood cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, toaster oven, and coffee maker. When it’s time to prepare a meal after a fun day of mountain activities there’s plenty of seating at the dining table for eight plus 4 more at the breakfast bar.

For entertainment, you’ll find billiards, board games and puzzles in the game room, flat screen TVs there, in the family room and all bedrooms, Xbox and PS3 game system, and wireless Internet throughout the cabin. But in this stunning setting, you’ll want to stay outside as much as possible, kicking back in a rocking chair or the glider, soaking in the hot tub, firing up the gas grill for an al fresco dinner, or settling into an Adirondack chair by the warmth of the fire pit. 

When it’s time to turn in for the night, you’ll choose between four airy, ceiling-fan cooled bedrooms, three of which have king beds, luxury bedding, private baths with shower or tub/shower combo, and large closets. The upstairs master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling and loft. The fourth bedroom is outfitted with a twin bunk beds and a single, ideal for kids.

If you’re considering a North Georgia cabin rental for your next vacation and love the mountains, the woods and the water, you don’t have to choose--you’ll find all three in one magical spot at the lyrically named Whispering Waters.

Located in Mineral Bluff, 12 miles from downtown Blue Ridge, and 10 miles from Lake Blue Ridge and all the recreational activities it has to offer, the cabin sits on a private two-acre lot with breathtaking long-range mountain views and a stream running down the wooded valley year round.

With nature providing the backdrop and the soundtrack, your experience will be different depending on when you visit. Beautiful dogwoods bloom in spring, snow blankets the trees in winter, autumn brings brilliant colors and the sound of crickets, fireflies twinkle in early summer and you’ll hear the katydids chirp in late summer.

Designed for comfort, relaxation and entertaining, the recently updated cabin is constructed of pine top to bottom, with enormous new windows throughout to better appreciate the view. The main living area, with its wood-burning stone fireplace, dimmer controlled chandeliers, leather sofa with two built-in recliners and 12-foot glass French doors/sidelights facing the deck, invites you to kick back and relax. The 55” smart flat screen TV is on a swivel mount that allows for viewing from just about anywhere on the main level. There’s high-speed WiFi throughout the home.

The kitchen is fully stocked with every appliance, gadget and serving piece you’ll need to prepare your meals; crockpot, Keurig, hand mixer, blender, coffee maker, electric griddle, electric frying pan, and rice cooker included. The dining table seats six, but expands with leaves to accommodate ten, and there’s seating for two at the granite-topped kitchen island on leather bar stools. 

Or fire up the gas grill and enjoy a barbecue on the partially covered deck, where there’s a wood-burning hand-built stone masonry fireplace, dining and picnic tables, and ceiling fans with dimmable lighting. Afterward, you can soak your cares away in the hot tub on the private side patio, which has room for six.

When it’s time to retire for the night, you’ll slumber in comfort in either of the two master bedrooms, both featuring king beds with Tempurpedic mattresses, Pottery Barn duvets and shams, ceiling fans, digital clocks with USB ports for charging your cell phones, and 42” flat screen smart TVs. The main level master has a walk-in closet and front deck access, and the upstairs master has a private bath with granite vanity, pine floor, and walk-in glass round shower. 

Also on the main floor is a bunkroom tailor-made for kids, with twin bunk beds with a twin trundle, a bay window with window seat, a round gaming table and two chairs, a digital clock with USB port, and a 42” flat screen smart TV. There is a bookshelf containing books, puzzles, games, and cards for entertainment pleasure. The adjacent bathroom has a tub/shower, granite vanity, and tile floor. A full-size washer and dryer is located in one of two closets in the bunk room.

Description Privacy, peace and serenity reign at this gated and completely fenced estate, set on three beautiful acres. Indochine's electronic gate ushers you into the cobblestone courtyard, and stairs lead up to the coral stone entrance with french doors. The large foyer, sparingly furnished with magnificent Asian antiques and West Indian pieces, is set off by polished mahogany floors. Just off the foyer, at the front of Indochine, is a very spacious bedroom; tall arched windows with draperies frame the views of the sea and gardens outside. This lovely room offers a mahogany queen bed and a bath featuring a graceful Asian vanity and tiled shower. A desk, a stationary exercise bike and a Gravitron assisted-weight pull-up machine stand ready in a corner. On the other side of the foyer is the large air-conditioned living room, set with low cushioned settees and an armoire with a flat screen TV and DVD media system. The villa has cable TV and wireless high-speed internet throughout. On the east side of the living room are tall, arched french doors which open to a roofed and tiled terrace just outside, and on the west side, french doors lead to the sheltered alfresco garden lanai. There, antique Balinese teak daybeds swathed in netting invite you to nap or read or have an apertif - the divine setting is so relaxing, with ceiling fans, romantic lighting and lovely rock gardens edging the lanai. An air-conditioned dining area for eight, enclosed by french doors, adjoins the lanai, and the grand professional chef's kitchen is just beyond. The kitchen is fantastic - high-ceilinged with glass-fronted cupboards, lined with chef-quality appliances such as a large stainless steel refrigerator/freezer, a butcher block chef's table, triple sinks, an 8-burner Vulcan professional range with double ovens and a griddle top, a KitchenAid mixer, and nearly all chef's tools are stocked. A bank of windows along one entire wall frame fantastic ocean views punctuated by Grass, Mingo and Thatch Cays, and Congo and Lovango islets, with the green islands of St. John, Tortola and Jost Van Dyke looming on the blue horizon. An antique Indian handpainted kitchen table is the spot for breakfast in this airy kitchen. Three air-conditioned bedroom/bath suites are situated between the living room and the kitchen and dining room - a hallway from living room accesses a king suite, a queen suite and the king master suite. All bedroom/bath suites are fashioned in clean, sleek Indonesian style, each bed draped with white netting and made up in cotton bedding, and each bed featuring all-organic mattresses. Carefully-chosen Asian antiques and pristine white walls combine to create a Zen feel in these so-serene rooms. The queen suite has french doors which open out to the east patio, and the king suite opens to the flat expanse of green lawn outside. Some of the beds are made from the same mahogany as the polished floors and some are antique Indonesian day beds; all are positioned to provide views that reach across the sea to the horizon without lifting your head from your pillow. The king master suite offers an adjoining dressing area with closets and a large bath with an exotic bamboo-lined alfresco shower. French doors lead from this suite out to a tiled patio, where a staircase descends through landscaping to the picturesque pool and terrace. The pool terrace, graced with a wind-sculpted tree, looks out over the grand panorama of islands to limitless ocean and sky. There is also a hot tub (no jets) on the pool terrace; the pool and hot tub may be heated for an additional fee, which must be prepaid. A path meandering through gardens leads to Indochine's meditation pavilion, a quiet and private place for personal time. Indochine is another world apart, a completely enclosed estate providing a private sanctuary of serene relaxation and tranquility. The white sand of world-famous Magens Bay Beach is just two miles down the road, but you may find you'd rather stay enveloped within the peaceful surround of Indochine, marveling at the views and listening to birdsong and to the tradewinds whispering through the trees.
