Kitchen and bathroom sales surge for Stax DIYWeek Product information

Read article : Kitchen and bathroom sales surge for Stax DIYWeek Product information
Stax Trade Centres has seen a surge in sales of kitchens and bathrooms in the last 12 months with all branches reporting increased sales and the Manchester depot up 40% on kitchens and 16% on bathrooms.

The company puts the performance down to several factors including the purpose built showroom in the flagship Manchester branch, the expansion of the range and it's sales support literature which makes it easy for retailers to sell the lines.

Following the success of the Manchester showroom, where customers can see and feel full room sets, the company has recently opened a similar showroom in Birmingham with plans for one in Leeds next year.

Purchase Director Simon Wright said: "Our customers enjoy being able to see and feel the quality of the product so they can recommend it to their customers in full confidence."

Stax has recently published its 2010/2011 catalogue that highlights a number of new and expanded ranges including contemporary taps, kitchen appliances, showers and shower screens, cloakroom basins, vanity units and bathroom cabinets, all of which are available ex stock from all Stax branches.

Wright commented: "These ranges are incredibly important to both Stax and to the independent retailer. We have to help our customers compete on the high street and we want to give them the opportunity to move into Kitchen and Bathroom sales very easily. By offering the independent retailer the full range of kitchen and bathroom product from units, worktops, sinks, ovens, hobs, hoods and appliances for the kitchen and suites, showers, taps, screens, vanity units, cabinets etc for the bathroom, their customers can purchase all they need from one source. Stax also supply a comprehensive range of flooring and tiles too, plus all the tools required to do the job."

Stax also recognise the need to help retailers sell kitchens and bathrooms:"We know many customers don't have the space to stock large ranges of kitchen and bathrooms, so we've produced a highly visual catalogue. Two versions of the catalogue have been printed, one with prices for the retailers own use, and one without prices so retailers can show customers how good the kitchens and bathrooms are. For these ranges customers should treat Stax like their very own storeroom, sell from the brochures then come in and get the stock," said Wright.

Corner Sinks For The Bathroom and Kitchen

Read article : Corner Sinks For The Bathroom and Kitchen

<a href=Corner kitchen sink" width="650" height="488" />

A corner sink may not have been the first sink installation that came to your head for kitchen or bathroom remodel, but it may be the best sinking option for your home. Interestingly, one of the only things corner bathroom sinks shares with corner kitchen sinks is their corner location.

They have different advantages and uses for each area of your home. Often, a corner bathroom sink is chosen for a bathroom because it’s a good way to conserve space, while a corner kitchen sink offers a unique appearance and design that helps to facilitate the kitchen “triangle.” Whether you’re undertaking a bathroom or kitchen remodel, it’s important to understand that a corner sink in either place is not the stepchild of standard sinks, but a beautiful and viable sinking option.

Corner Bathroom Sink

Corner bathroom sinks can conserve space in smaller bathrooms in a couple ways. First, while they can be mounted on a pedestal or within a countertop, just like any other sink, they are often wall-mounted. It’s helpful that the corner provides two separate walls to create a sturdy mount, but the wall mount also allows the space under the sink to remain unoccupied. You can put a trash can there or simply leave the space free to help reduce the claustrophobic feel of smaller bathrooms.

Still, corner bathroom sinks can be used in standard or larger-sized bathroom as well. Often, they’re a good idea for a more squarely shaped bathroom. Take a minute to imagine a square room and you can probably tell how corner space could be easily left unused. With a longer, narrower bathroom, on the other hand, corner sinks may as well be set in a countertop and extend the entire wall.

Corner Kitchen Sink

Corner kitchen sinks aren’t nearly as much about conserving space, but this doesn’t mean they don’t use your kitchen space efficiently. The kitchen “triangle” refers to the three main areas of the kitchen: the refrigerator, the sink, and the oven range. Kitchen sinks are often frequently placed “in the middle” of the other two areas.

Consider a corner kitchen sink the end of two separate assembly lines: food preparation and cooking the food. Both require clean up. The kitchen corner sink is still a double sink installation, but the sinks are flared out like the wings of a butterfly. It makes for a distinctive, pleasing look and will also allow dirty pots and pans to flow into one sink and cutting boards, drinking glasses, and other light dishes into the other area. Similar to bathroom design, corner kitchen sinks often work best in a squarer kitchen space. It’s difficult to place a corner sink between the refrigerator and the oven range in a galley kitchen.

Do you prefer to cover the interior parts of your bathroom and kitchen with ceramic or stone tiles to avoid mold and mildew? Remember that such tiles can adorn the walls and floor enhancing the theme of the place. It is an easy trick to provide your small bathroom and kitchen a spacious and bright look using the suitable tiles. For example, Architectural Ceramics Tile and Stone team members decorate a small bathroom with wall white marble tiles and handsome floor white mosaic tiles surrounded by decorative black and white borders.

The same pattern of the boarders decorates the walls of the shower area to create a sense of balance in the place. In a similar small kitchen, the designer Jennifer Gilmer creates an accent wall using beige ceramic tiles to cover the backsplashes with the rest of the wall.

If you have a modern sleek home and need to add the charm of farmhouse feel for example, it will be a great idea to use cement tiles. The team members of Architectural Ceramics manufacture and install custom cement tiles out of marble powder, cement, sand and natural colored to provide the homeowners their favorite themes.

In the modern Thorne master bathroom, the team creates a luxurious look using porcelain tiles with leather texture inside the geometrical shaped shower cabin along with a bathtub at the facing corner. A large mirror surrounded by rich brown mosaic tiles and tube shaped spotlights completes the luxurious look of the place.

If you intend to create beach or food theme in your kitchen or bathroom, you can use tiles with blue water or fruit prints. Instead, you can choose tiles with the color that will enhance your theme and enhance the look with suitable accessories. For example, the team of Architectural Ceramics decorates an accent wall with blue slices of Calacatta marble to create harmony with the look of outdoor pool.
