Norwegian Epic Cruise Ship Balcony Cabin Video Tour and Review. Compact, cosy , bright and practical.
Watch my video tour and review of a typical balcony cabin on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Epic. This is cabin10229.

The balcony cabins on Norwegian Epic are compact and cleverly designed. They have curved walls which means that they take up less space on the ship and yet are still able to provide a bed area and seating area with sofa (which is also a sofa bed). To use space more efficiently instead of having a separate bathroom the facilities are within the room. There is a small (probably a bit too small) basin and then on one side of the cabin door is a shower cubicle (which is a good size) with frosted glass. On the other side is a toilet cubicle also with frosted glass. Although the glass is frosted you can still see some shape of the person using them, so there is a curtain that can be drawn across the room to screen the area off if you want added privacy.
The bed is comfortable although it also has a curve at the end to allow movement around the bed and so as I am 6’2” my feet slightly were off the end if I lay flat on my back. However, there was no issue when sleeping.
There is surprisingly lot of storage of all types in the room, including lots of space under the bed to stow away suitcases. There is a small desk / dressing table area and a selection of USA and Euro plugs under the table. I liked the tea and coffee maker, and the steward was always fast to replenish the supplies as they were used.
The balcony was large and there was plenty of room for 2 chairs and a small table.
The TV is interactive and in addition to checking your bill, which is helpful to keep an eye on your budget, you can also use it to make bookings.
On first entering the room I worried that it may feel a bit cramped with the curved walls and compactness. However, it did not turn out that way and I ended up finding it comfortable, practical and very cosy at night.
The balcony cabins are compact and the balcony makes them bright and perfect for cruising in warmer climates. I liked them.
