Read article : Cedar Park Whirlpool Suites in Mystic - New London
Let me start by saying that this was my very first time at this establishment. My partner and I recently stayed at the Cedar Park" Whirlpool" Inn and had an extremely dissatisfying experience. We decided to book our stay at this location because we were going to the Food and Wine Festival in Foxwoods. As all the resorts close to the casinos were all booked up, this one happen to have several openings..(this should have been our first clue )! The website did look promising. It offered a 1 or 2 person whirlpool tub in each room and a manager's reception - a "happy hour" free beer, entertainment, apps. and free limo service to the casinos. As we arrived the outside looked cute and we were excited about the stay. We were warmly greeted at reception and directed to our room. That's when we realized what a mistake it was to book at this location. We were given a bottom floor room which was obviously a "basement" like room. It was dark, cold and smelled like mildew completely uninviting. Once the lights were turned up we noticed it was equipped with our very own fly swatter, de-humidifier and for a bonus an old exercise bike. To make matters worse the room we booked online was supposed to have a "whirlpool" tub in it, this room didn't even have a tub just a stand up shower, as we walked out to complain we noticed a large dirt mark on the sham of the bed. We quickly asked for another room. The girl at the reception desk did apologize and gave us another room. We were hoping that the new room would turn our sour moods around and unfortunately for us we were sadly mistaken. The second room may have been a slight step up (being on the second floor) but certainly did not meet our standards for a pleasant evening. Again the room was cold and dark. We brushed it off and turned up the heat. We decided to take inventory of the room. The pillows were thin and raggedy, the top sheets had big yellow stains on them, the love seat was worn and ripped and the curtains were stained and ripped. Again we were supposed to get a "whirlpool" tub this room had an ordinary tub with several jets! BIG DEAL I HAVE THAT AT HOME!!! At this point we just wanted to shower and start our evening out. A shower was out of the question, No Water Pressure what so ever this included the water pressure for the toilet. We decided to skip the "free" limo service ( $5 dollar gratuity was expected per person) and headed out for the night. On our way to the casino we searched for other hotel rooms in the area and came up with no other options. We had no choice but to go back to our "suite" at the end of our evening, only to be woken up at 2 am to drunken screaming party goers which lasted till 5 am. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this establishment if you are looking to "treat" yourselves out for a nice weekend. On the other hand if you are looking to party hard and pass out it seems this would be the place for you!
