Naturally Derived Pearlizing Compound for Bath/Shower

Colonial Chemical has added a pearlizing agent for bath and shower applications to it product lineup. Poly Suga Pearl (INCI: Sodium Hydroxypropylsulfonate Lauryl-Glucoside Crosspolymer (and) Ethylene Glycol Distearate (and) Decyl Alkylpolyglucoside (and) Cocamide MEA) is a concentrated dispersion of pearlizing compounds designed to be free of sulfates and ethylene oxide.

The primary dispersant is derived from alkylpolyglucoside, a natural/renewable resource that is non-petrolaum based. By inclusion of the dispersion via cold mixing at 5-7%, formulas can be pearlized. The product is recommended for bath and shower applications such as: bath gels, shampoos, liquid hand soaps, bath wash and bubble bath, or almost any other type of formulation. In addition, the dispersion reportedly does not decrease foam or viscosity and is stable after three freeze/thaw cycles.
