Palo Alto police arrested an accused peeping Tom on Monday, charging he tried to take a cell phone photo of woman in her bathroom earlier this year, authorities said.

Around 6:30 p.m. on July 21, a woman called 911 from the 400 block of Grant Avenue, near the Stanford University campus, police said.

The victim, a woman in her 50s who was not identified by police, told investigators she had just gotten out of the shower and was getting dressed when she saw a cell phone outside her window pointed at her.

Officers were able to identify a suspect, 22-year-old Palo Alto resident Norbu Norbu, and the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office filed a misdemeanor charge of peeping against him.

Just after noon on Monday, Norbu voluntarily surrendered to authorities and was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

A similar incident was reported June 12 on the 300 block of Olive Avenue in Palo Alto, but authorities said they have no evidence to suggest the cases are connected.

Investigators asked anyone with information about either incident to contact Palo Alto police at (650) 329-2413.
